Candle Care

1. Before Lighting

Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6 mm) to prevent excessive flame and smoke.

Clean the Surface: Ensure the candle surface is free of debris or dust to maintain a stable flame.

2. Lighting the Candle

Choose a Safe Location: Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects, curtains, and drafts.

Use Long Matches or a Lighter: Light the candle with long matches or a lighter to keep your fingers away from the flame.

3. While Burning

First Burn: Allow the candle to burn long enough (at least 2 hours) so the entire surface melts evenly. This helps prevent tunneling.

Keep an Eye on It: Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Keep Away from Children and Pets: Ensure the candle is out of reach of children and pets.

Avoid Moving: Do not move the candle while it’s burning to prevent hot wax from spilling.

Ventilation: Burn the candle in a well-ventilated area to avoid smoke buildup.

4. Extinguishing the Candle

Use a Snuffer: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the candle to prevent smoke and splattering hot wax.

Avoid Blowing Out: Do not blow out the candle directly to avoid smoke and hot wax splatter.

5. After Burning

Trim the Wick: After burning, trim the wick to the appropriate length for the next use.

Clean the Container: Remove any soot or wax residue from the candle container to keep it clean for the next use.

6. Safety Tips

Burning Time: Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent the container from overheating.

Spacing: Keep multiple candles at least 3 inches (7.5 cm) apart to prevent heat buildup.

Do Not Burn to the End: Stop using the candle when about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains to prevent the container from breaking.
